Back again & with nothing to lose, Altered Gee release their most dedicated and polished work to date: Round 3. Solidifying the group as a trio with vocals from Said Cato-King, we’re all given a rude but necessary awakening with “Wake up”. The opening track immediately showcases what’s new this time around. From deep within the G arsenal, long time friend and collaborator Josh Prescott lays live bass, setting the pace & funk for the rest of the album. As the next few songs hit you see a bigger picture beginning to unfold with every stroke of the brush. The dream weaving really catches stride with “1 Spirit 2 Another” featuring more live bass, this time from first time collaborator and fellow Sneer Records label mate & funk heavyweight Kevin “Kazz” Collins. It’s all G with the screws being tightened until we come to the closer “Bad Card”(every band members favorite track). A cosmic love song about time travel and regret over a minimal deep house backdrop. I can only tell you what it is. We hope you like the way it tastes.
